We’re excited to share that the final report for our Erasmus+ project EU&YOU – Enhancing European Identity Through Intergenerational Art Engagement is now published!

Over the past 17 months, EU&YOU has brought together adults from Ireland, Portugal, and Italy to explore the power of art as a tool for connection. Through creative workshops, exhibitions, and international exchanges, participants from very different walks of life came together to learn, share, and grow—many discovering their artistic voice for the first time.

This project focused on older and younger adults living in island or remote areas, especially those who hadn’t had many chances to travel, express themselves through art, or learn about the impact of the European Union. What we found was truly inspiring:

🖌 Art helped people connect across generations and cultures🌍 International travel built confidence and opened minds🤝 People formed new friendships and felt part of a European community🎨 Many participants created their first ever piece of art—and loved it!

As one participant shared:“Being part of the EU&YOU project made me feel like I was part of a European family, brought together through creativity and community.”

The final report tells the story of what we delivered, what we learned, and what’s possible when we give people the space and support to connect through creativity. It’s also packed with quotes, reflections, and suggestions for future projects.

A huge thank you to our wonderful partners – Blackrock Further Education Institute (Ireland), Associação Poiomar (Portugal), and Absentia APS (Italy) – and most of all, to the participants who brought so much heart, talent, and courage to this journey.

Let’s continue building bridges—one brushstroke at a time.
